Modi’s macro actions have worked, now India needs micro focus.

After watching the video of the meeting broadcasted by TMC and reading the article on economic times, we can assume that the lockdown might extend for another two weeks.

Modi said that “the priority of the government is to save each and every life”.

But we need more weapons than just lockdown to fight with COVID-19.

Let’s read the opinion of Shekhar Gupta on Modi’s lockdown.

About three weeks back when India started testing selectively then they found that many people coming from overseas were tested positive along with their families that alarmed India to take such a massive action.

There was no major or widespread testing, India’s testing was very low compared to other countries ever lower than Pakistan which led to criticism.

Shekhar Gupta

This Indian lockdown is the severest n the world, the economist carried a chart based on studied by a group in Oxford which ranked the countries on a severity index on their response to COVID-19.

India topped the chart in the world, while India topped the chart according to the intensity of the lockdown, on the other side India was at the bottom of the chart when it came to a fiscal stimulus for the economy in terms of percentage of GDP.

So in severity, India was even ahead of Italy but in fiscal stimulus, India was lowest which you can understand because in the entire group India was by far the poorest of all other countries.

Must read:

In fact, the next poorest countries are China and Malaysia at five times per capita GDP than India.

India as it continues with the lockdown or extends it, it’s risky for the economy or our country. Though the upper or middle classes can overcome the lockdown, it’s the poor and farmers who will face difficulties as the engines of the economy have stopped. As many people live on daily wages for them the situation is critical, either not coronavirus hunger might kill them.

As Shekhar Gupta says unlike the US, India doesn’t have the ability to print money as Donald Trump is doing.

Let me explain, why

India follows a gold standard policy, under which every rupee is backed by a similar value of the gold reserve hence giving actual value to the piece of paper. On the other hand, almost all of the global trade happens over USD, as well as the US, being a resilient economy made it move away from Gold standards and instead make the ‘faith over the economy’ as it’s value driver.

What we need at this point now to find the major weapon or micro focus action and plan.

Also read:

Major possibilities to control, are:

  • Extend the lockdown
  • Completely lift the lockdown
  • Seal the hotspots and gradually lift the lockdown from other areas.

The third option might be a better option as some factories or companies will start fo work, like pharma factories which will again lead to commutation hence communication modes will start to operate but then the spreading of the virus can also spread faster.

So what’s your say in this, comment below. Let the nation know, citizen’s views.

Do you know, how much time we invest in social media during the lockdown?

Know the effects of using social media.

After the lockdown, everyone is active on social media, many of them are displaying their cooking talents including me.

A friend of mine wants to become a stand-up comedian, due to the busy schedule he could never give his time to nurture his talent. So now, he is utilising the social platform by sharing jokes, publishing videos on youtube.

Another friend of mine is learning art and painting from YouTube and sharing her talent with us.

We have increased our 87% usage and on average we spend 4-5 hours per day just on Facebook and WhatsApp.

And my beautiful girls are so busy, so many daily challenges are there to fulfil to make this world beautiful. Seeing their beautiful smiling faces makes us forget all the problems we are facing right jow.

Even the coronavirus finds it so angelic and delightful that they spare the girls who perform:

  • Saree challenge
  • No-make challenge
  • Mother-daughter challenge
  • Googles challenge
  • Couple challenge

By far, I have been receiving these challenges.

According to Business Today, Indians have turned to social media to pass their time.

Before the lockdown, social media usage was on average 150 minutes per day. However, in the first week of lockdown, the figures jumped to 280 minutes per day, showed a survey. The survey added that 75 per cent of people were spending more time on Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp compared to the week before.

What people do in social media

In social media, people were largely consuming news and communicating with their friends and families as coronavirus grappled the country.

Our brain is restless, it needs an opportunity to do something. We are hunter-gatherers and social media gives us the opportunity to read, learn, watch, listen, share the post, upload etc..

Ego needs a platform to showcase itself, 80% of our online conversation are sharing our opinions, thoughts, self-appreciation, display of our talent.

After posting any picture we wait for likes and comment, a person like me after publishing a blog, I check the viewer’s stats.

According to research, lonely people are more social friendly.

Using Tiktok has increased despite the fact that it is a Chinese app and many of us are demanding of uninstalling it but people are spending their time making videos especially celebrities.

The demerit of Social Media

Extreme use of social media leads to depression.

Social media creates immense pressure. This is known as FOMO, a trendy new acronym used to describe anxiety of feeling left out, lacking talent, missing events. So the anxiety raises when we see people are doing much better in their lives and we start comparing it with others.

I hope many of us by far has experienced laziness and restlessness as we are using twitter, Facebook, Instagram a lot these days. Because this is a common symptom of being so active in social media.

A study from Harvard University showed that self-disclosure online boosts a part of the brain that also lights up when taking cocaine.

You might face sleeping disorders.

Fictional stories Nillie- Judge her or adore her

Chapter-6 Page-18

It was almost 5, as Sanjali resumed the shoot hence all the crew members were busy so it gave Nillie a golden chance to escape from there without getting noticed by Raghav.

She called up a taxi and after settling down informed Raghav that she had to leave because she was not feeling well.

She reached the venue before time, she directly went to the washroom for a touch-up, while she’s is busy in touch up, Parth called..

Parth: Hello! I have reached, I am in another get-up, so to help you recognise me, I am wearing a black hat with a grey coat.

Don’t take my name, call me Grover, I don’t want media’s attention.

Nillie:(Giggled) okay boss! Got it!

She reached the place as directed, Parth was waiting for her with a glass of champagne. When he saw her coming towards her, he stood up from his chair to show chivalry and pull-out a chair for her.

Nillie: Thank you, baby!

Parth looked at her with amazement and smiled to see her all into the character.

Nillie gracefully glowed and made herself comfortable.

Parth: You are looking gorgeous. So how was your day?

Nillie: (smiled)Good! I was there at the shooting the whole day, I am coming directly from there.

Parth: Oh okay! So you enjoyed watching the shoot?

Nillie: Actually shooting started after lunch so I was unable to see much of her dance.

Parth: Why they started to shoot so late? It’s a spot where you need proper light from 2nd half, anyway, let’s talk about us.

Nillie told Parth about her past, where she came from, how she was unhappy in her marriage.

Nillie managed to portray herself as a self-made girl who struggled her way out from all the odd circumstances finally she has gathered courage.

Nillie is expert in gaining sympathy, she depicts herself as the fatality who has been violated and ignored even by her own family.

Smart indeed!!

Meanwhile, during the discussion, Parth got a call from his manager as his meeting was fixed with some other director, he had to leave.

Parth: It was nice spending the evening with you, I wish I could spend some more time but I have to leave for now as I have other commitments, but wish to see you soon.

Well you send some of your dance videos to me, let me see what I can do for you.

Nillie: I understand, it’s difficult to get some free time from the busy schedule, I am honoured that you chose to spend some time with me.

I will be waiting for the next meeting. I will surely send you my videos.

Do you wonder what Parth liked in Nillie? Her calm and composed nature, beauty is not everything, beauty has no boundaries, but when beauty meets with brain success come on its own. This is why I adore Nillie, she is focused and knows what to talk and how to approach.

She can make her work done by anyone. Many of us lack such talent. Can we even call this a talent in the first place? You decide…
