The greatest gift you to yourself is making friends.
This blog is dedicated to my friends who turned out to be my family.
I am sure while reading this blog, there is a smile on your face thinking about your friends.
How annoying they are, right?
Still, they are so valuable to endure. A city we live in becomes so strange and difficult to live in without friends. If you close friends with whom you spent years and have witnessed the entire journey with you stand out to incredible.
Being an introvert person, I had fewer friends during school but yes out of those school friend one became my life partner and others became my family. I cried with them, laughed with them, we had parties together and they were always been there for me.
You were like my network, wherever I go you were always with me.You were there when I wanted you during the most important event of my life. You managed everything like a sister.
“Har Ek friend jaruri hota hai” be it in your school or college, office or locality if you lack friendship it becomes arduous and strenuous to sustain.
Any friendship that was born during the period of 17-25 lasts till the end. I truly believe in it.
Friends reduce stress and make you overcome your depression. Your friends influence your weight. I do agree on the part as when I am on a crash diet they also feel the urge of reducing weight but the same doesn’t apply to me. When I eat, I don’t care if my friend is spending hours in the gym or dieting. Share your thoughts, dirty secrets, passion with each other. A true friend is one who stands with you in all phases of life. Every decision you take, they guide you always.
You can’t discuss everything with your family members, but you can with your friend. People who care for you will find a reason to be with you. According to studies, close friends share 1% of DNA with you. Isn’t that great? Your close friend always understands when you are in danger. They also dislike the person whose equation is not good with you.
Not just an apple keeps a doctor away, friends also do. People with a large number of friends live longer. A mutual bond which grows with time.
On average, people have 3-5 best friends. I have six, what’s your score?
We are concerned about our friend, means a best friend is our responsibility, a sense of love and loyalty.
We get protective and possessive for our friend. We learn from each other, it’s more a commitment.
We urge to be in contact with each other, gossip, discuss and learn.
All I can say they are all family beyond blood relation.
Many great poets, authors have written books on friendship and one of the most popular show FRIENDS which was loved all over the places.
If you are missing your friend after reading this, remember your friend is a call away!!
The clock ticked 11:50 pm on December 31st, and I was eagerly waiting to welcome the new year and explore 2020.
The year, 2019 gave me all the happiness, love and blessings and now was it’s time to depart. I was eager to find out what changes will the leap year brings to my life. Though North India was freezing the winters of Bangalore is much more pleasant.
Being new to the place, I had no friends and couldn’t decide to celebrate elsewhere and landed up hosting a party for myself at my cosy place. Then I didn’t know that this 2BHK flat will be the place where I will be locked for so many months. All festivals, parties and occasions will be celebrated only here.
With the beginning of the New year, I started job hunting and growing my small business simultaneously. I didn’t know what was striding towards us and I was specific for my job opportunities turning down several positions.
In January, all my Chinese friends and students went for their Chinese new year when I heard that a virus has emanated in the country from Wuhan. My friends from China kept apprised me about the situation and kept on updating me with videos and photos. Many of them approached me asking for masks availability as there masks were out of stock everywhere. The small MSME’s were in the loss and the owners were worried and tensed. I kept on supporting them mentally when students mentioned me as their “Soul teacher”.
Every morning their day started with authorities arriving at door-step for a temperature check. The first case of CoronaVirus was reported on 30th January in Kerala from a person who returned from Wuhan, China. Soon it spread in other parts of the country.
The team of WHO paid a visit to China and after return WHO tweeted that there is no human to human transmission. Despite the fact that the doctors of China mentioned that human transmission is possible. The entire world did trust the global organisation and relied on the statement.
Meanwhile, in the United States of Colorado and Nebraska reported mysterious drones in the sky.
The movie Parasite won the Oscar in January.
The first day of the year started with bushfires in Australia. Basically, the bushfire started from September 19 till March 20.
As the year started, on 3rd January, the U.S. drone strike killed General Qassem Soleimani raised tension with Iran.
On January 27, an agreement was signed between the government of India, Bodo groups and the Assam government to redraw and rename the BTAD in Assam.
Many applicants put the enrollment on hold as they informed that their banks are closed and they will be in lockdown. I lost all my students who were about to start the new batch. They said that as soon as the virus abolishes will get back to me. By then, the SARS-like virus has already a name and it known as COVID-19.
On 11th February, in Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party won the election by securing 62 seats out of 70 at Delhi Legislative Assembly election-2020.
The cocktail of NRC+CAA didn’t go well which ultimately resulted in Delhi riots.
The cause of the riots was hate speech, confrontations, CAA protests, provocations. The riot resulted in the death of 53 people and 200+ injured.
Well, we all know that the royal and golden guest Donald Trump arrived in India on 24 February. The event was addressed as “Namaste Trump”.
I celebrated my birthday without my friends but this time it was special. However, I went for dinner on the date. Meanwhile, my blogs were performing well especially the coronavirus blogs of mine and grabbed the eyeballs of many across the world.
India sealed Chinese borders and ban all flights flying too and from China.
Time flies by, I entered the month of Holi, yes the month of March.
In no time, the virus crossed the borders and spread to the USA, Europe and a few more countries.
India initially successfully managed to rein in Coronavirus spread but all went in vain when on 3rd March, 69 years old Italian spread the virus in Rajasthan.
Most of the MNC’s declared work from home. WHO declared 2019-nCov as a pandemic.
The government was taking all safety measures like temperature check, closed all mass gathering points, religious places, restaurants, pubs and bars, all educational hubs along with tourist places were closed.
India evacuated its citizens from China, Iran, Maldives and other countries.
By 18th of March, 7447 confirmed cases were reported with 239 deaths. Many celebrities and influencers were busy educating people to wear masks and use hand sanitizers. Social media and channels broadcasted educational videos and ads to make people aware of precautions and preventative measures.
Where so much was going through along with the blogs, I was also busy writing my E-novel Nillie and had its own fanbase from India, Egypt, Iran, China and a few more countries. Besides writing I was also giving interviews parallelly and luckily I got selected in multiple companies but I was more excited to clear the round of an MNC which was about to hire me as their marketing manager. They asked me to create an assignment in the final round and submit by 26th March on which my selection will prevail.
I was working day and night, understanding the company, requirements, as the job role was new for me and being experienced in sales the domain was new for me.
On 22nd March, Indian prime minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation and called for 21 days complete lockdown.
We were asked to stay at home, only essential items were available. With the announcement, I went to stock ration from the nearby stores and found people were busy in panic shopping.
After returning from the market, I woke up the whole night to prepare the presentation and was about to send at the EOD.
Early morning, I received mail from the HR where she mentioned that as Government has announced locking we are keeping our hiring on hold till the economic condition improves. I was devastated and shocked but somehow I already knew that this might happen. With this, all other companies froze the hiring, and I was jobless and hopeless where I decided to give blogging a try and find other opportunities in my business.
By 25th March, the world was gasping with the shortage of ventilators, noted personalities pledged and donated to the funds. Health infrastructure, of many countries, broke down. Countries like Italy, France, and entire Europe and the United States, lost the battle against the virus. While most of the people in the world we’re in lockdown situation in China started to get normal. People returned back to their businesses and public place resumed. But that didn’t bring much happiness, for international suppliers from China as they lost many contracts, no buyers were ready to purchase their products.
WHO follows the bigger power?
The world raised questions and criticised WHO over handling the pandemic and taking a long time to declare openly about the virus.
The question was if China found that the virus is humanly transmitted then why didn’t they inform the world beforehand?
By now, the world started speculating, assuming and creating stories about the virus. It was clear by now, that China has emerged as the most powerful country in the UN and has means to silence global institutions.
Let’s forget about the virus, politics, problems for some time. Let’s focus on the most important scenario, we all are getting bored.
Every day I travel to my current working space, i.e. kitchen and then move to the other station which is my sofa where I sit and work. This is my life, sometimes I get so bored and feel the urge to go out like before, get back to normal life and that makes me restless. What actually makes me forget my restlessness is food and watching movies or shows. So after watching all the shows over Netflix, Amazon Prime, I have now decided to watch a few movies and rejuvenate my memories and time when I did watch them. I am trying to understand and compare how I felt after watching the movie then and now.
For example, I started with watching a movie Nilkamal, when I was a kid maybe 8-9 years old, my parents were watching it on Doordarshan so I recalled that I always wanted to watch that movie because it’s a horror movie so now’s the time, however, after watching this classic movie, I can say the dialogues were so cheesy then, the ghost was unable to scare me, but the in-law’s behaviour is still same.
So based on my experience, I am sharing the list of movies I liked to watch again:
1. 3 Idiots
This movie was released in 2009, I was a college student then and I remember that this movie was a birthday party-treat by my friend. So this movie enacts the parallel drama of the present and past of three students. I did love watching this movie and can watch it again and again.
Even our life is out of control now, so I want to blow the whistle and say ” Aaalll..is well…!!”.
2. Zindagi na Milegi dobara
This is a 2011 movie, 3 childhood friends reunited for a trip, I do relate to it because of my childhood friend, “Twinkle” wants to plan a trip to Goa just every month, but some or the other way, it always gets cancelled. We are so busy every time, we earn and spend, we wake up and go to the office, even my dreams are often hindered by my MD asking about the sales target I achieved this month.
It’s a 2012 film, all the actors did justice to the character they played. A comedy-drama film and how beautifully this movie plays with emotions, at one point it makes you laugh and suddenly makes you cry or sad. This movie has taught us so many lessons of life.
I was in school when the movie came with a bang of spicy and romantic songs, while loved to dance and watch the dance “Beedi”, on the other, I used to get romantic with my imaginary lover on the romantic track ” din doobe na”.
Even now I loved the acting of Saif Ali Khan and Vivek Oberoi.
I watched the movie on Netflix with my parents, loved everything about this movie. I think you will agree with my point. This action-packed movie was released in 2015.
6. Bahubali-The conclusion
The sequel was released in 2017, this time the movie had more romance along with the action scenes. However, I liked the first part more.
7. Udta Punjab
This movie got leaked before its release, it was banned in many states. You must watch this movie, four parallel tracks and lives revolving around one factor. Too good acting of Shahid and Alia loved to watch this again.
8. Kabhi Khushi kabhi gam
I loved to watch the melodramatic movie, K3G, I was a child when the movie released but now I know why I loved watching this movie 😝
9. Ye Jawani hai Diwali
I recently watched this movie on Netflix, I want to go out for a trip that’s my feeling.
10. 1920-Horror movie
I loved the acting of Adah Sharma, in this movie. I don’t why, I have watched this movie so many times but still, I love to watch it. Even it seems scarier and sometimes funny to me than Grudge-franchise or Conjuring.

Dynasty resort is in Khurpatal, 10 km away from the hustles & bustles of the city. The place gives you a breathtaking view of big mountains covered with pine trees and greenery all around. Khurpatal (lake) changes its colour and beauty is so amazing that even it can’t be explained by adjectives that I can use to make you imagine. Even the place is actually more beautiful than the pictures on the website or taken by us.
So I relaxed there for the day as I wanted to capture all the scenic views and inhale the pure oxygen. It was raining when I reached but at around 3 pm the sky was clear and the sun peeped out from the clouds.
From the balcony, I could see the sun rays falling on some mountains while the other mountains were full of clouds. The spectacular view made me feel like being in paradise.
Next day, I left for the sight scene. The resort provides paid cab services for the whole day.
Nainital Sight scenes:
There are many places to visit in Nainital. You can find a list on Google but I picked a few points. I am going to share about those places I visited:
1. Golu Devta Temple
I started my journey with the temple, though off the track for a romantic trip but believe me, this God is known for fulfilling wishes and my prayers were also heard and he fulfilled my wish. What else you want in this world full of negativity, where everyone is busy in backbiting and backstabbing, God is there for you.
This temple is situated in Bhowali, near to Nainital.
Golu Devta is the incarnation of Lord Shiva. This temple is also known as bell temples. Devotes make petition to the temple, to seek their desires or wishes on the accomplishment of the wish the deity is shown gratitude or tribute by hanging bells in the Temple.
I reached the temple, bought the puja thali along with a bell and started to climb stairs of the temple.
There is a small waterfall near Nainital, it is on the list of side scenes. There you can click some amazing pictures and enjoy a cup of coffee with snacks.
3. Tiffin Top.
It is located in Ayarpatta hills, best for a mesmerizing view. It bestows a spectacular view of Himalayas.
4. Snow View Point
This is the oldest viewpoint from where you can have had a glance of the snow-clad Himalayan range. You can see through the telescope, few people sit there with a telescope who charge 10-20 INR. You can enjoy horse riding in both snow viewpoint and Tiffin top.
Apart from tea or coffee, you can enjoy boiled chickpeas or grams, roasted corns.
5. Lovers point & suicide point.
Between tiffin top and snow viewpoint, two other halts are also famous with the name as lovers point and suicide point.
6. Eco-cave gardens.
This place stands for caves, it encompasses seven caves and is enjoyed especially by children. You can enjoy the amidst nature and the beautiful flowers in the park.
This park is closed during rainy season.
7. Tea Garden
Shyamkhet tea garden in Bhowali, near the vicinity of Dynasty hotel and Golu Devta temple lies the tea garden. Not just you will find a beautiful tea garden in the wide expanse, your pictures are also going to come out really lovely.
8. Naini lake
Here comes the queen of the kingdom, Naini lake is a freshwater body which is kidney-shaped and is located right in between of the township Nainital.
It’s like a dream when you reach there, beautiful hotels and colourful boats in the lake, surrounded by people and lots of food option to spoil you with the chilling air.
You can enjoy boating, shopping and eating or just gaze upon.
9. Naini Temple
Just beside Naini lake, Naini temple is situated you can seek blessings from there.
10. Mall Road
A popular shopping area of Nainital, here you find shops for handicraft, candles, restaurants, clothes, jewellery, etc.
However, my suggestion to Delhiites is to avoid buying winter wears like jackets or sweater. Delhi markets provide us with the more cheaper option with varieties.
Things to buy: You can buy candles, stoles, shawls for gift purpose or for yourself.
Handicraft items for decoration are also good to go.
Things to eat: Nainital does not have any special cuisine but you can enjoy momos, hot chocolate otherwise you will find a lot of Delhi food chain or restaurants inspired by Delhi Cuisine.
Some kind of sweets are famous in Uttarakhand you can enjoy that.
