Rahul Gandhi: PMO’s governance consolidation will bring disaster during Coronavirus pandemic.

In a recent video-conference, Rahul Gandhi said:

The lockdown doesn’t mean switching on and off the key. It requires a psychological change. The opening itself is a transition.

Rahul Gandhi

Now as we are already in lockdown 3.0, the economy which had already plummeted has been lifted up with spirits.

However, the government is trying to open up markets in certain areas and giving relaxation.

This is subject to analyse, study, discuss.

Rahul Gandhi has said the people are very scared. We need to make people understand that remaining in a lockdown state won’t help. The government have to turn the fear into confidence. It is not a dangerous disease for all. However, a segment of people who are aged, hypertension patients, diabetic etc the virus can turn out to be deadly.

So what kind of precautions and measures should be taken to fight with the pandemic?

But then the government is itself asking citizens to live with the virus and we have to. We Indian citizens have worked day and night to make India reach to bring India in the ranks of the top ten economies of the world. We can’t afford to lose such status…!!!

The nation wants to know about Arnab Goswami

Recently Arnab Goswami stole all the limelight after he published a video stating an attack on him by the Congressmen late night while he was returning from studio to home.

Again our India divided itself into groups having a different opinion.

  • Only supported Arnab
  • Supported Arnab and BJP
  • Opposed Arnab because of his cheap publicity stunt
  • Opposed Arnab just to support the opposition.

He loves controversies, he is expert in creating news. This is not the first time that such things happened. Let me take you to the journey of Arnab.

Arnab Goswami was born on 9th October 1973 in Guwahati, Assam. Born in a reputed and well-known family where his father Manoranjan Goswami is a retired army officer and a BJP member.

Strong family-political background.

He contested for the Lok Sabha polls for the Guwahati Constituency but he lost it from the congress candidate Bhubaneswar Kalita.

If you look at the family background, the entire family is very much educated. Arnab’s mother Suprabha Gain-Goswami is an author.

Arnab’s paternal grandfather was a lawyer and maternal grandfather was the legislator from the communist party of India.

Arnab in making

Arnab attended schools in many cities as his father was in a transferable job. He completed his masters in social anthropology from Oxford University where he was a Felix scholar.

After his education, he returned to India and started his career with The Telegraph, Kolkata.

I remember while watching one of his interview with Raj Thackeray where Thackeray said that you might be worked in print media as all journalist does. But he soon moved to Delhi and joined NDTV.

The journey wasn’t easy, he hopped and learnt from his experiences. He worked with DD Metro as well where we won his award as the best news anchor of Asia 2004.

In 2006, he joined Times Now as the Editor-in-Chief. He got his popularity from there when he hosted a live show at 9 pm along that he also hosted special programs like Frankly speaking.

He formed a new way of anchoring by bringing aggressively debates on topics. People loved to hear him, the way he argued, the way he use to keep his point, his English speaking.

Many companies and colleges recommended and referred to watch his show to enhance English speaking skills.

Now he is with Republic TV.

Why Arnab is called BJP puppet.

Republic TV was launched 2 years back and it’s a most-watched news channel from 100 weeks in a row.

It’s owned by:

  • Arnab Goswami
  • ARG outlier media
  • Asianet News

The channel was primarily funded by Rajeev Chandrasekhar an independent member of Rajya Sabha who had intricate links with Bhartiya Janta Party.

Arnab as a co-founder and his wife Mrs Goswami as a major investor along with Ramdas Pai and Ramakanta Panda.

Chandrasekhar resigned from the board in 2018 before officially joining BJP and Arnab bought the stakes of Rajeev Chandrasekhar.

Republic TV is accused of biased reporting in favour of BJP.

It also has an allegation of propagating fake news.

It has also been accused of breaching TRAI & NBSA rules.

And along with that, it also has been subjected to high profile defamation case by INC Lok Sabha MP Shashi Tharoor.

Current Update:

Arnab Goswami after accusing Sonia Gandhi now accuses Mumbai Police.

An FIR has been registered by RAZA Educational welfare society Secretary, Irfan Shaikh, for creating communal disturbances.

The channel had telecasted the protest of migrants that had gathered near Bandra railway station on April 14, during which he (Goswami) had raised a question as to why are mob gathering only near mosques during lockdown.

Irfan Shaikh

On which, Goswami stated the police filed the complaint with an intention to harass and silence him.

This is not the first incident multiple such complaints have been filed against Arnab.

Fake news by Arnab

  • Chattisgarh Health Minister registered FIR against Arnab for Palgarh mob lynching and all spreading communal hatred.
  • The video of Arnab mentioning about the attack and the time of the attack stated was misleading.
  • Rajdeep Sardesai claimed that Arnab Goswami lied and used his story about covering Gujarat riots.
  • Recently Aatish Taseer turned down the request to participate in the debate on “Western Media peddling fake news about India.”

Why people like Arnab:

Sad but true, while I was searching for why do people like Arnab in Quora surveys other articles there were no such article or section where people did mentioned why they adore him. My search result kept on showing why people don’t adore him.

But yes there are a few points to really admire:

  • He has given journalism a new form of ranting.
  • He is aggressive, witty, ferocious.
  • His aggressive behaviour attracts people.
  • He knows from where to grab the opportunities for his betterment. For journalism…ahem!ahem!…we will see for that.
  • He has the potential to shout continuously and taunt on the fellow debate participates.
  • Indians love spices in food, entertainment and life. Arnab is giving the spice to the Indian audience.
  • He has the potential to singlehandedly run a news channel and constantly remain at the top of TRP.
  • He plays all the roles, he is the moderator, he is for and against the debate and himself delivers the final verdict.
  • He is an eloquent orator with impeccable fluency.

So the question lies:

  • Where is Arnab wrong?
  • He has rightfully asked questions as a Hindu and as a true Indian then were us the problem?
  • If he is creating communal differences, aren’t we trying to do the same?
  • If he is booked to hurt religious feelings, aren’t there many who do the same?
  • He is able to do so because of we Indians actually love that. The divide and rule policy is nothing new in India, Isn’t it?

The Migrant Conundrum |Poverty & Lockdown.

Over the past few weeks the most pressing matter the government is trying to handle is the migrant crisis that has arisen out of this lockdown. It seems that the government advisory mechanism was caught off guarded over repercussions of this lockdown from the migrant perspective.

To the flocking of thousands of migrants at Delhi-Ghaziabad border, to the staging protest in Surat, Andhra border or at Bandra in Mumbai. People have been protesting to arrange the government for their return to their natives. While the government has been suggesting staying put wherever they are, respective state government have been arranging return of their citizens.

A quick survey of migrant’s shelters reveals the horror. The Delhi police survey report states to Indian Express (April 28), that fans are not working, no power backup, sanitization of toilets rarely done, most migrants want to leave as their families cannot survive, rude behavior of civil staff, pathetic quality of food, no hand wash and sanitizer, foul smells in toilet, water supply in toilets only between 7 to 11am, one soap for bathing and no detergent to was clothes, mosquito bites and so on. If these are the conditions of voluntary camps, don’t even imagine the conditions of quarantine camps where one have no option but to stay.

This lockdown has left the marginal section who barely are lifted out of poverty at the helm of going back to poverty. With no job, no food and no means to send remittances to their family, it is natural that one gets frustrated. The grim pictures of migrants cycling or walking back on foot along with small children thousands of kms paints the reality of this lockdown. Remember, the lives exist out of gated society as well. The truth is government is yet to figure out the assistance of this section, and assistance if received have benefited only few.

Once, these people go back and settle, the MSME’s will be the hardest hit, which are dependent on these workforces. Once stopped, it is no easy job to restart a business. Indian railways have set off across country to bring back home the stranded migrants and estimates that 500 such trains will be needed across 15 days to get the job done. The state of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have to huddle together as coordination with states are the major pain pointed out by the Railways. Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal are also in the line.

Once this exercise is over, the next challenge of the government is to kick start the economy and feed its jobless citizens, in a country where malnutrition is entrenched, especially among children, there is a danger of hunger becoming widespread too. We all have anecdotal evidence that families are going hungry and some are starving too. While you can have food given to you by government, one just cannot give up his dignity and have no job but just food to eat even if given free by the government. A human need is much more than just-food.

Where we read disturbing news of people committing suicide because he wasn’t able to feed his family during lockdown.

On the other hand, jewellers are forced to sell vegetables so that they can survive from the lockdown crisis.

A food for thought!!.

How Bengal is fighting with COVID-19 under Mamta’s rule.Current update.

Current update

After Amit Shah, now Dr Indranil Basu Ray who is an Indian-American cardiologist has written a letter to Mamta Banerjee.

I am compelled to point out the fact that as West Bengal is exceptionally crowded, the virus, if it infects a particular locality, will spread like wildfire, affecting thousands and killing quite a few.We cannot take anything for granted as you will regret if thousands are infected, and hundreds start dying because of a lack of strictness in preventing the spread and appropriate detection of COVID-19.

Indranil Basu Ray

By now, West Bengal has more than 2060+ cases. Indranil also added:

Hushing up such infection and not taking appropriate precautions like isolation would lead to death and destruction, which I certainly know that you would not like as the Chief Minister of my state,

Indranil Basu Ray

If we check the state-wise list of confirmed patients in India after Maharashtra Gujarat is the second state to have the highest number of covid-19 patients while West Bengal is at 8th position with 2000+ cases so why so many letters are been written to Mamta?

Are all the people biased and trying to just target Mamata?

Or

It’s because of the number of cases might be more but the state is hiding the actual numbers?

I am getting a lot of messages and request to write something on the way West-Bengal is dealing with Coronavirus. People from Bengal are asking my opinion and thoughts on the same. It’s sad that the citizens of West-Bengal are upset and worried by the way the state government is handling the situation.

After reading the tweet, I reached out to Rahul Jha who is helping poor and needy people with rations. This is a new challenge for him to rescue the stranded ones. Let’s see how we can support.

On this blog, I am just sharing my analysis, it will be too early for me to put forward any opinion for such a sensitive cause.

Let’s start the journey of analysis with me and find out together.

These are my questions which came to my mind. Help me to find answers.

  1. Are political leaders with decades-old rivalries still playing politics during this pandemic?
  2. What the fight is all about? Is it ego or insecurity?
  3. If Mamta is playing politics at this situation, will it hit back?
  4. While students are tweeting Mamta to bring them back from Kota, why she has not taken any steps yet?
  5. Only the two states, Bihar and WB don’t want their students and migrants back, why?
  6. Will politics affect the common man?
  7. Are sweets so vital for Bengalis, that they won’t be able to survive for a few days that the government is bound to open meat markets and sweet shops?
  8. Is Centre really trying to intervene and blame Mamta?
  9. The central government decided the hotspots without survey and statistics, how?
  10. Why didn’t centre sent teams to MP or Gujarat first, as they sent to Kolkata?
  11. As Mamata and supporters are continuously saying that they lack PPE kits and testing kits because of the biased government, is that true?
  12. Why it is taking 5 days for test results to come out in Bengal when it is 2 days for other states.

Let’s try to find out the answers in this blog.

What happened till date in West Bengal?

  • On 4th march, Mamata alleged that people are creating chaos over CoronaVirus to suppress the riots in Delhi. She said;

“Today some people are shouting corona, corona [coronavirus] a bit too much. Yes, it’s a dreaded disease but doesn’t create panic. Some (TV) channels are creating hype over it to suppress Delhi violence.

If anyone can provide help to rescue this little girl who has stuck alone thousands of km away from parents.
  • On 17th March, a young boy was detected positive for COVID-19 in West Bengal who returned from London. This was the first case reported.
  • On the 18th of March, she asked people not to be irresponsible if they are having CoronaVirus symptoms also she ordered the state police to take stern action those who are spreading fake news.
  • On the earlier days of lockdown, even the media and the opposition parties applauded the way she addressed the media and people of West-Bengal. Mamta did announce that the state government will create a fund of 200 crores to deal with coronavirus.
  • By 25th March, the entire Kolkata Medical college was turned into medical facility to treat COVID-19 patients.

Now how the game changed? Let’s understand.

Politics- A dangerous game to play during this pandemic.

Coronavirus did change the course of Indian politics. Along with that, also exposed not only the mentality of politicians and media people but also the common men.

We are not just bearing brunt of economic crisis but the world is burning with communists and brutal and ruthless Indians.

Whenever I see the photo of the poor Hindu monk’s face who got killed by the mob at Palghar I do shiver that how people killed a person to death. The wound was not even healed and today I read another news of the death of 2 more Hindu monks.

Mamata Banerjee in the early days of April said that Coronavirus is not a communal disease and politics must not be indulged into it.

Later on, she mentioned that the areas must not be divided as hotspots. Where the whole country was fighting with coronavirus, recognizing hotspots and seal them she, on the other hand, gave it a term “sensitive areas”.

Is this because of her Muslim vote bank?

If we see the past and learn from it, Narendra Modi has always been known for turning unfavourable circumstances in his favour. As he is taking strong steps and trying to save his citizens from the virus even the entire world is praising him. This is the golden opportunity for BJP to enter into the West Bengal. If we see the history, BJP never ruled West-Bengal. We saw in 2014 when BJP got only 2 seats and in 2019 BJP managed to get 18 seats out of 42 which was remarkable. TMC has to be worried about this surge and any mismanagement can lead them to lose the next election.

The Bengal Chief Minister was clear of locking horns with the Prime Minister since the beginning of the fight against Coronavirus. She refused the plea of lighting lamps. Although she left the decision of lighting lamps to the citizens of the respective state. Most of the people switched off the lights for 9 minutes but didn’t lit lamps or candles as far as I know. When I spoke with few, I was surprised to know that they did not light the candles because of fear of retaliation.

What we are seeing, the only state government which turned out to be doing bizarre acts to control COVID-19. Where everyone is requesting including the prime minister to get united Mamata is holding daily press conferences to claim and state how the state is discriminated. Is that so?

TMC claims that the government is biased towards West-Bengal.

Let’s see if the government is biased. What steps the government has taken by far for the states:

  • Government of India has allowed states for additional borrowing and the limit is set at GSDP of States as per fiscal responsibility and FRBM act.
  • The government of India has ensured that they will give free treatment to COVID-19. Every state has set-up quarantined centres but Mamata is asking the people to stay put and quarantine themselves in their own homes because it’s difficult to arrange facilities for everyone. But what if the situation gets out of control and we need immediate medical assistance.
  • The government is providing PPE kits of International standards to every state. Where Mamata raised her questions on the colour of PPE kits and on the other side, media reported misuse of PPE kits.

The blog has already become too long to read. Let me cover the rest of the topics on my upcoming blogs related to Mamata dealing with Coronavirus.

It is high time that the politicians forget about politics and fight against the deadly virus which is mutating very fast. Scientist have already reported that the virus has mutated 10 times by now.

Otherwise, if anyone has watched Game of Thrones it will be difficult to win over the virus. As from the first season of GOT, we know “Winter is coming” but the rulers we’re so busy winning over lands and ruling that even though the finally defeated the nightwalkers, it left disastrous results.

Do you want GST-Free on Corona-Fighting items?

I found the trending hashtag on Twitter which is #GSTFreeCorona so I thought to check and find out the origin.

On Saturday, the Indian youth congress advised, requested and urged the central government to waive off GST from medical equipment like ventilators, medicines like paracetamol, hand sanitizers, PPE, masks and other lifesaving drugs until the time, the country is fighting with the pandemic.

As I found the hashtag on Twiter, I was surprised to see so less number of likes, comments and retweets on the post. Just like me, others were also laughing on the same.

Vaibhav Walia mentioned that:

If the govt. agree to our demand of #GSTFreeCorona

Masks will become 5% cheaper for people

Sanitizers will become 18% cheaper for people.

Gloves will become 12% cheaper for people

PPE kits will become 12% cheaper for doctors and medical staff.

Even people like us, who are inspired by his English-diction got inspired by Vaibhav and tweeted:

This is a totally legitimate demand. Shocking the Govt would seek to make money off these indispensable essentials in the midst of a pandemic. I support #GSTFreeCorona-fighting items.

Shashi Tharoor

Even the media has no interest in writing articles or blogs about the opposition’s initiative apart from Business Standard.

Let’s find out the Relinquish Tax (GST, IGST & Custom-Duty) on the essential products to Restrain/Cure of Covid-19.

FCovid-19.

Do you really agree with this tweet?

Even if the world is about to end, do you think someone will give his valuable vote to Rahul Gandhi?

So let’s find out if Modi government has ever considered or issued GST-Free in any compliance.

  • Government has extended the date of filing GST returns to businesses.
  • Relief from penalty and fine.
  • Exemptions from import duties.
  • The Government has also decided that the due date for issue of notice, notification, approval order, sanction order, filing of the appeal, furnishing of return, statements, applications, reports, any other documents, the time limit for any compliance under the GST laws where the time limit is expiring between 20th March 2020 to 29th June 2020 will be extended to 30th June 2020.
