Review and Rewind 2020.

The clock ticked 11:50 pm on December 31st, and I was eagerly waiting to welcome the new year and explore 2020.

The year, 2019 gave me all the happiness, love and blessings and now was it’s time to depart. I was eager to find out what changes will the leap year brings to my life. Though North India was freezing the winters of Bangalore is much more pleasant.

Being new to the place, I had no friends and couldn’t decide to celebrate elsewhere and landed up hosting a party for myself at my cosy place. Then I didn’t know that this 2BHK flat will be the place where I will be locked for so many months. All festivals, parties and occasions will be celebrated only here.

With the beginning of the New year, I started job hunting and growing my small business simultaneously. I didn’t know what was striding towards us and I was specific for my job opportunities turning down several positions.

January:

In January, all my Chinese friends and students went for their Chinese new year when I heard that a virus has emanated in the country from Wuhan. My friends from China kept apprised me about the situation and kept on updating me with videos and photos. Many of them approached me asking for masks availability as there masks were out of stock everywhere. The small MSME’s were in the loss and the owners were worried and tensed. I kept on supporting them mentally when students mentioned me as their “Soul teacher”.

Every morning their day started with authorities arriving at door-step for a temperature check. The first case of CoronaVirus was reported on 30th January in Kerala from a person who returned from Wuhan, China. Soon it spread in other parts of the country.

The team of WHO paid a visit to China and after return WHO tweeted that there is no human to human transmission. Despite the fact that the doctors of China mentioned that human transmission is possible. The entire world did trust the global organisation and relied on the statement.

  • Meanwhile, in the United States of Colorado and Nebraska reported mysterious drones in the sky.
  • The movie Parasite won the Oscar in January.
  • The first day of the year started with bushfires in Australia. Basically, the bushfire started from September 19 till March 20.
  • As the year started, on 3rd January, the U.S. drone strike killed General Qassem Soleimani raised tension with Iran.
  • On January 27, an agreement was signed between the government of India, Bodo groups and the Assam government to redraw and rename the BTAD in Assam.

February:

Many applicants put the enrollment on hold as they informed that their banks are closed and they will be in lockdown. I lost all my students who were about to start the new batch. They said that as soon as the virus abolishes will get back to me. By then, the SARS-like virus has already a name and it known as COVID-19.

  • On 11th February, in Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party won the election by securing 62 seats out of 70 at Delhi Legislative Assembly election-2020.
  • The cocktail of NRC+CAA didn’t go well which ultimately resulted in Delhi riots.
  • The cause of the riots was hate speech, confrontations, CAA protests, provocations. The riot resulted in the death of 53 people and 200+ injured.

Well, we all know that the royal and golden guest Donald Trump arrived in India on 24 February. The event was addressed as “Namaste Trump”.

I celebrated my birthday without my friends but this time it was special. However, I went for dinner on the date. Meanwhile, my blogs were performing well especially the coronavirus blogs of mine and grabbed the eyeballs of many across the world.

India sealed Chinese borders and ban all flights flying too and from China.

March:

Time flies by, I entered the month of Holi, yes the month of March.

In no time, the virus crossed the borders and spread to the USA, Europe and a few more countries.

India initially successfully managed to rein in Coronavirus spread but all went in vain when on 3rd March, 69 years old Italian spread the virus in Rajasthan.

Most of the MNC’s declared work from home. WHO declared 2019-nCov as a pandemic.

The government was taking all safety measures like temperature check, closed all mass gathering points, religious places, restaurants, pubs and bars, all educational hubs along with tourist places were closed.

India evacuated its citizens from China, Iran, Maldives and other countries.

By 18th of March, 7447 confirmed cases were reported with 239 deaths. Many celebrities and influencers were busy educating people to wear masks and use hand sanitizers. Social media and channels broadcasted educational videos and ads to make people aware of precautions and preventative measures.

Where so much was going through along with the blogs, I was also busy writing my E-novel Nillie and had its own fanbase from India, Egypt, Iran, China and a few more countries. Besides writing I was also giving interviews parallelly and luckily I got selected in multiple companies but I was more excited to clear the round of an MNC which was about to hire me as their marketing manager. They asked me to create an assignment in the final round and submit by 26th March on which my selection will prevail.

I was working day and night, understanding the company, requirements, as the job role was new for me and being experienced in sales the domain was new for me.

On 22nd March, Indian prime minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation and called for 21 days complete lockdown.

We were asked to stay at home, only essential items were available. With the announcement, I went to stock ration from the nearby stores and found people were busy in panic shopping.

After returning from the market, I woke up the whole night to prepare the presentation and was about to send at the EOD.

Early morning, I received mail from the HR where she mentioned that as Government has announced locking we are keeping our hiring on hold till the economic condition improves. I was devastated and shocked but somehow I already knew that this might happen. With this, all other companies froze the hiring, and I was jobless and hopeless where I decided to give blogging a try and find other opportunities in my business.

By 25th March, the world was gasping with the shortage of ventilators, noted personalities pledged and donated to the funds. Health infrastructure, of many countries, broke down. Countries like Italy, France, and entire Europe and the United States, lost the battle against the virus. While most of the people in the world we’re in lockdown situation in China started to get normal. People returned back to their businesses and public place resumed. But that didn’t bring much happiness, for international suppliers from China as they lost many contracts, no buyers were ready to purchase their products.

WHO follows the bigger power?

The world raised questions and criticised WHO over handling the pandemic and taking a long time to declare openly about the virus.

The question was if China found that the virus is humanly transmitted then why didn’t they inform the world beforehand?

By now, the world started speculating, assuming and creating stories about the virus. It was clear by now, that China has emerged as the most powerful country in the UN and has means to silence global institutions.

Kriti Sanon slams media in her post.

Very well said, Kriti!

I was thinking in the afternoon, that the media, trollers and critics are also the reasons that demotivate a person.

Kriti has asked the media not to hit behind a bush if they have guts write the names.

She even said that there must be rules in journalism and manners as well.

However, I found star kids showering their love on her post. Out of which, Sonam Kapoor’s name comes on the top.

Chapter-6 Page-18

It was almost 5, as Sanjali resumed the shoot hence all the crew members were busy so it gave Nillie a golden chance to escape from there without getting noticed by Raghav.

She called up a taxi and after settling down informed Raghav that she had to leave because she was not feeling well.

She reached the venue before time, she directly went to the washroom for a touch-up, while she’s is busy in touch up, Parth called..

Parth: Hello! I have reached, I am in another get-up, so to help you recognise me, I am wearing a black hat with a grey coat.

Don’t take my name, call me Grover, I don’t want media’s attention.

Nillie:(Giggled) okay boss! Got it!

She reached the place as directed, Parth was waiting for her with a glass of champagne. When he saw her coming towards her, he stood up from his chair to show chivalry and pull-out a chair for her.

Nillie: Thank you, baby!

Parth looked at her with amazement and smiled to see her all into the character.

Nillie gracefully glowed and made herself comfortable.

Parth: You are looking gorgeous. So how was your day?

Nillie: (smiled)Good! I was there at the shooting the whole day, I am coming directly from there.

Parth: Oh okay! So you enjoyed watching the shoot?

Nillie: Actually shooting started after lunch so I was unable to see much of her dance.

Parth: Why they started to shoot so late? It’s a spot where you need proper light from 2nd half, anyway, let’s talk about us.

Nillie told Parth about her past, where she came from, how she was unhappy in her marriage.

Nillie managed to portray herself as a self-made girl who struggled her way out from all the odd circumstances finally she has gathered courage.

Nillie is expert in gaining sympathy, she depicts herself as the fatality who has been violated and ignored even by her own family.

Smart indeed!!

Meanwhile, during the discussion, Parth got a call from his manager as his meeting was fixed with some other director, he had to leave.

Parth: It was nice spending the evening with you, I wish I could spend some more time but I have to leave for now as I have other commitments, but wish to see you soon.

Well you send some of your dance videos to me, let me see what I can do for you.

Nillie: I understand, it’s difficult to get some free time from the busy schedule, I am honoured that you chose to spend some time with me.

I will be waiting for the next meeting. I will surely send you my videos.

Do you wonder what Parth liked in Nillie? Her calm and composed nature, beauty is not everything, beauty has no boundaries, but when beauty meets with brain success come on its own. This is why I adore Nillie, she is focused and knows what to talk and how to approach.

She can make her work done by anyone. Many of us lack such talent. Can we even call this a talent in the first place? You decide…

Enjoy reading Nillie, A e-novel during #Quarantine # Lockdown #Coronavirus phase.

At the shooting Spot, Sanjali finished her shoot for the day but there was a heated discussion ensuing between Sanjali, director-producer and the team. The team were asking for a few more dates as Parth couldn’t make up today.

Sanjali: I already told you before that I have a trip to Rome, Italy. I am performing there so I can’t give you dates in between.

Director: I understand but you know this is only an album and we want to release in a short time. Dates will clash with Parth again if we have to wait for a month as you are saying. Parth will start his movie shoot and then he won’t be able to give us any more date.

Sanjali: Why don’t you ask Parth to get some way out? Due to him, we couldn’t shoot today.

Director: He is a legend you know, we can’t point the finger at him, and so do you.

You need to calm down..!! you take some time, Sanjali. Have your lunch, see how you can manage and we can figure this out after lunch.

Arey bhai! Madam k liye kuch thanda, garam manga do. ( Director addresses spot boy to give her something to drink).

Spot boy: Mam what will you have coffee, cold coffee or cold drink?

Sanjali murmuring: Bullshit! Senior actors… We girls are always exploited in this industry.

Sanjali: Sun idhar aa, paise pakad ek vodka r nariyal Pani kharid k cocktail bna k le aa, ja bhai!

Aur sun.. jo bhi bache change sab tera

(Listen, take this money, buy vodka and coconut water, make a cocktail and bring, keep the change). Sanjali called out her manager and started to discuss about the dates.

Raghav was also there during the argument, he went back to Nillie for lunch.

Raghav: Hey Nillie! I must say, you are looking ravishing today. I think there will be no shooting after lunch today, we can go somewhere.

Nillie: What happened? You said that Parth will come to meet today ?

Raghav: Parth is actually stuck due to some work which was unavoidable. He could not

Nillie: Oh! is it, so sad. I just came to see him today though I am not feeling well.

Raghav: What happened to you?

Nillie: Nothing, just feeling feverish. Why the heroine is upset?

Raghav: This is nothing new, everyone has their own ego and throw their tantrums. You will get used to this when you enter this industry, maybe then you will not recognise me as well.

Nillie: Maybe or maybe not, I will appoint you my manager ( both laughed). Let’s go and eat now, I am so hungry.

Raghav: So what I was saying, how about spending the day. We will go to some club first and later at my place from there?

Nillie: I really want to, but as I just said, I am not that well. I will go home and take some rest but do not worry, I will not leave you so soon, will be with you until 5.

Raghav: Cool, I will drop you then.

Nillie: Don’t worry about me, focus on your work, we can meet tomorrow as well.

Both went for lunch. In the meantime after the lunchtime was over, the director went inside Sanjali’s van to discuss.

Sanjali: Listen, I checked with my manager. I have to leave for my show but what I can do is to return immediately after the show and finish my shoot. Make sure, you take the dates from Parth before the shoot starts because this item dance can be a milestone for me and set my bar. I cannot compromise on that.

Director: Okay, you just give me the dates and I will take care of everything.

Cool! Shall we complete the close-up shots now?

Sanjali: Fine! I will get ready in 30 minutes and we can resume.

Did Nillie hide something? Yes, she didn’t say anything about the telephonic conversation neither informed Raghav about the date?

Is Sanjali going to Italy? Why Sanjali why?? You should stay at home now, stock your food and don’t step a foot out. Even if you urge for Vodka.

Stay safe and be at home 🙏 We are saving the world!!

Chapter-6 Page-16

All the dancers were practising the dance with the choreographer. Sanjali was already at the spot, getting ready in her van.

Everyone was waiting for Parth to arrive at the spot.

Raghav got a call from Parth’s assistant saying he is stuck in the middle of some other shoot so he will be unable to join today.

The crew decided to shoot Sanjali’s part and leave for the day.

Poor Nillie, she was expecting to meet him but now it seems all went in vain. But it was Nillie, when she dresses up for the reason it’s must get noticed and the motive fulfilled.

She then dialed Parth’s number.

Parth responded the call

Parth: Hello!

Nillie: I know that you won’t recognise my voice, maybe you will not even remember our conversation.

Parth: Sorry, are you someone who is so easy to forget?

Nillie: I don’t think so, but the person I am talking to is a Sun, under his light stars like me fade away.

Parth: You remind me of someone. Also you have my personal number maybe you are indeed someone very special.

Nillie: Aww so I am still in your memories, dig a little, we just met a few days back.

Parth Are you that lady in saree, I remember you now, we met at Mimi’s birthday party.

Nillie: Now you see, I am someone, even celebs can’t resist.

Parth: That’s because you are a star which is radiant and has a luminous light of it’s own.

So what are you doing now? You just want to talk over the phone or would you love to know me more over dinner?

Nillie: I would love to know you more with a glass of wine.

Parth: Perfect, so how about meeting at 7 pm today? Miss..

Btw, what shall I call you?

Nillie: My parents named me Nillie.

Parth: Such a unique name so see you Nillie at St. Regis dot 7.

Nillie: I will be there, bye.

Nillie was in cloud nine, so simple it was for her, she’s not just a beautiful girl but a gracious approach landed her smoothly in the limelight.

She turned back where Sanjali was already in front of the camera, ready for the shot. She’s looking all glamorous, gorgeous and beautiful. Nillie got lost in her own dreams.

On the other hand, Ritika was still thinking if she should call her sister or not.

She finally dialled her number, the bell rang but Nillie didn’t pick the call.

She thought to call again but Kartik called up.

Kartik: Hey!

Ritika: Hi!

Kartik: Have you heard the news? India might soon go into lockdown mode. It’s advisable that you store some ration for yourself specially buy masks and sanitizers.

Ritika: Yes I read about it, I was planning to buy all the necessary items on the way to home.

Kartik: Yes please, do that on an urgent basis and take care of yourself!

Next week, witness the date of Nillie and Parth.

Will Nillie replace Sanjali in this album?

Ritika the spy, will she be able to find her sister? Get all your answers in upcoming pages.
